Julie Lavertu practices in Civil and Commercial Litigation particularly in the fields of Construction Law, Bankruptcy, Professional Liability, Civil Liability and Insurance Law.
She regularly pleads before all Quebec Tribunals, in first instance and on appeal, as well as in mediation and arbitration. She also acts in complex files and in class actions.
In Construction Law, Julie represents private owners, contractors, suppliers and various professionals. She is consulted for different matters regarding construction sites, from the pre-contractual phase to the closing. She acts in files regarding contractual balance, extra work claims, impact costs and legal and conventional warranties.
She also handles files in matters of surety and insurance related to construction. She is specialized in defending the interests of clients facing a co-contracting party who is protected under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Company Creditor Arrangement Act.
Finally, in Insurance Law, she represents insurance companies both in defense and in subrogation recourses. She acts in commercial insurance, property insurance, automobile insurance and General Civil Liability.
